Montfort Cottage Guest House was built in the latter part of the 19th century from lakeland stone and, although modernised, still retains much of its original charm and character.
Situated in the very heart of the Lake District, within the county of Cumbria, we are just a 10 minute walk from the famous villages of Windermere and Bowness, with their abundance of shops, restaurants and traditional pubs, and a short distance from Lake Windermere itself.
Facilities: There are 5 double bedrooms in total. All have en-suite facilities except one, which has sole use of a private bathroom. For that special occasion, honeymoon or romantic weekend, there are three rooms with four poster beds. We also have one room situated on the ground floor, which is suitable for those who are not so mobile.
Please note that we do not accept pets and all rooms are non-smoking for the comfort of every guest. Montfort Cottage does not have facilities to accommodate children and so, therefore, is only able to cater for adults over the age of 18.
Complimentary use of the leisure facilities at Parklands Country Club in Bowness is also included. Facilities offered free of charge include the use of the gym, swimming pool, steam bath and sauna. Don´t forget to bring your swimming costume and a towel!
