Brecon Lodge B&B is ideally located for Cardiff City Centre and the Millenium Stadium, on the west side of the city, with excellent public transport by bus and train. Yet you are just five minutes walk from the delightful seaside, and a short drive into fine open countryside. Wonderful shopping, top entertainment, premier sports events, all are easily accessed from here.
We are happily signed up to the Visitwales Walkers and Cyclists scheme, and are pleased to welcome you on your route through the "Beautiful Vale of Glamorgan" and "The Garden by the Sea".
From "Brecon Lodge" you can take bracing coastal walks towards Cardiff Bay, with its lively yacht marina and passing shipping, or towards Lavernock Point and Sully Island. At Lavernock, Sngr. Marconi sent the World´s First Radio Signals across Water, from the farmyard to Flat Holm Island, and , a few days later, as far as Brean Down, near Weston. Sully Island has the remnants of an ancient fortress, as well as a vicious current on incoming tides, which can trap the unwary! Penarth itself is a gem of a Victorian town, largely unspoilt, and containing outstanding examples of period architecture, unrivalled in Wales.
Many of our visitors take the Penarth Town Trail, following the red footprints on a free easy to read map of the route, whist other guests jump on the first bus to the City, to sample the bright lights and local beers. For more information about Cardiff, go to website Visitcardiff. net.
"Brecon Lodge" is a proud Member of the Vale Marketing Group, Capital Region Tourism & Mid Wales Tourism.
