The Royal Sportsman is Porthmadog´s premier Hotel.
It is located in the centre of Porthmadog, a town often described as the "Gateway to Snowdonia" where sea, beaches, town and magnificent countryside come together.
This Victorian Hotel was built in 1862 as the main staging post in the area since the Cambrian Railway was not built until 1867. The Hotel was well known for its own liveried carriage and horses, stabled in what is now the garage, to take customers from the Hotel to their destinations.
Facilities: The hotel has 28 different sized bedrooms on three floors, for individuals, couples, families, those who have difficulty or are disabled and even tour groups. All rooms are en-suite.
All rooms have new King Koil Club Class divan beds, duvets and starched cotton sheets.
