Today Bradley Hall and Bradley Burn are a modern 360 acre farm where the Stephenson family have lived and worked for 60 years. Currently we grow wheat, barley, potatoes, and oilseed rape, and raise beef cattle and lambs.
Our holiday cottages are situated centrally on the farm. All four are barn conversions in the former farmyards at Bradley Burn, where we live in the adjacent farmhouse. All have been carefully renovated to preserve much of their original character, while providing well furnished comfortable accommodation with modern amenities for our visitors, who are welcome to explore the surrounding fields and woods, watch the varied wildlife and observe the farming going on around them.
The farm is situated at the eastern end of Weardale on the edge of the unspoilt Northern Pennines in the beautiful rural area of County Durham; an ideal base for sightseeing. The attractive village of Wolsingham, two miles west, has a good range of small shops and friendly pubs. There are facilities for swimming, golf, fishing, pony trekking and dry skiing within a short drive. Further afield but still within easy reach, are the country towns of Bishop Auckland and Barnard Castle, while major centres such as Durham, Newcastle and the Metro Centre shopping complex are less than an hour's drive away.
