Judges comments in The Daily Telegraph, 21st April 2007The Old School, a 5 star Gold Award property, in an 18th century stone building, originally a village school, with lovely south facing gardens surrounded by woodland in the small conservation village of Newton on the Moor,five miles south of the market town of Alnwick - famous for its Castle and The Alnwick Garden.
Newton on the Moor is situated in the heart of rural Northumberland, a most tranquil part of the country. Yet we are only 1 mile from the A1, and Newcastle airport is only ˝ an hours drive. The Holy Island of Lindisfarne and Bamburgh Castle, Northumberland National Park and the Northumberland Coast, a stretch of stunning coastline, which has been designated an area of outstanding natural beauty, are all also within ˝ an hours drive.
