Chris and Rosina invite you too stay at Hafod and be welcomed to a very special experience; a small, distinctive hotel that offers the country house experience, without the formality and pomp, in a home that is more a rambling farmhouse than a formal country house.
Hafod means "summer dwelling", an outlying farmhouse used only in the summer months. This 17th Century building has been a guesthouse since late Victorian times and has been updated to provide a small luxury hotel with a highly individual sense of style.
Situated in the Conway Valley, at the foot of the Gwydyr Forest, we are literally, on the edge of Snowdonia National Park. Comfortably away from the bustle of Betws-y-Coed, Hafod is in an exceptionally quiet location, with the silence of the night mainly punctuated by the cries of different species of owl.
This is possibly the most fascinating corner of Britain, whether you seek majestic countryside, historic sites, beautiful gardens, attractive country towns, outdoor pursuits, golf, horse riding, water sports, fishing, sailing, the seaside or simple relaxation and an escape from the hurly burly of city life, its all here for you.
At the heart of staying at Hafod is our food. We aim to provide satisfying food, without pretension of fuss. Everything is entirely prepared on the presmises, from the basic ingredients, with a real enthusiasm for the pleasure of genuine hospitality. We provide varied menus.
Facilities: The hotel is small yet provides a lounge with an open fire in the winter, an oak panelled bar and a dining room.
All seven bedrooms are en-suite, with the twins and doubles having baths and showers. Each bedroom is quite individual in style, which is reflected in the tariff.
