Pencraig Court Hotel welcomes guests for business or leisure, or a combination of both!
Built in 1780, Pencraig Court became the home of Sir Humphrey de Trafford in 1876, whose family stayed in residence until the 1950s. It is now home to Liz and Malcolm Dobson who run the hotel and their daughter Katie who runs her own business, Live Life Events (corporate and private groups for activity breaks, team building, networking you name it, she can arrange it! www.livelifeevents.co.uk).
The hotel offers guests a warm welcome with an informal atmosphere, traditional home-cooked food and good wines. Produce is locally sourced where possible and many fruit, vegetables and herbs are grown in the orchard and kitchen garden.
All bedrooms are en-suite, non-smoking, with televisions, tea and coffee, and hairdryers. There is a small Sitting Room with television and a larger Drawing Room, with a Baby Grand Piano which our guests are encouraged to play, cheering log fire in winter and French windows into the gardens. The Dining Room has a superb view with a large circular oak table which extends to seat 16 guests.
Pets are welcome by arrangement at a small extra charge.
There is Broadband connection throughout the hotel.
There is one Four Poster Bedroom, with a bay window overlooking the River Wye and beyond. The Family Room has a double bed and single bed, with smaller pull-out bed for a smaller child. There is enough space for a travelling cot as well and also an enormous bathroom!
Activities nearby include golf, canoeing, climbing and abseiling, 4x4 off-road driving, cycling, quad bikes, clay pigeon shooting, great walks, and, back home, Croquet on the lawn.
Places to see include: Castles, Gardens, Cathedrals and Churches, Butterfly Zoo, Birds of Prey Centre, Cider trails and Vineyards, Coal Mines, Caves etc.
