Historically, Winchcombe was the capital of Mercia and boasts St. Peter's Church with its fine gargoyles, Sudeley Castle the resting place of Henry VIII's last wife Catherine Parr and Hailes Abbey amongst local places of interest.
GWR, Prescott Hill Climb and Stanway Fountain (Britain's highest Fountain. The world's highest gravity fountain), are within a few miles.
Winchcombe lies on The Cotswold Way and other walking routes and Oaklands offers the perfect place for to rest weary feet.
Oaklands is approximately 10 miles from Cheltenham a Regency Spa town of great character with its gracious tree lined avenues, parks, gardens and the famous Cheltenham Racecourse.
The main house is circa 1900, which offers five bedrooms. A further five can be found in the annex, built in 1985.
There is a passenger lift to the first floor and wheelchair access.
The single room has an adjustable electric bed. Some independent living aids are available on request.
Oaklands accepts children of all ages and offers family suites with bunk beds. Travel cot, high chairs a selection of children's films and toys are available.
We have two in-house cats, two in-house dogs and are happy to accept pets by prior arrangement if able.
