Welcome to the
Marquis of Lorne Inn, an
award-winning rural country inn with a great reputation for food. This 16th century inn is nestled in the Dorset hills and is very popular, and deservedly so, for country breaks.
Ideally located in Nettlecombe, a small Hamlet with old stone cottages, it provides an
excellent position for touring the county and to visit a wealth of interesting places. The location is also a great starting point to walk the famous Ancient Roman Hill Fort Eggardon Hill, which has spectacular views over the coast and surrounding countryside. It is just a short drive to Lyme Regis and Weymouth and just 7 miles from the World Heritage coast.
The inn also offers two cosy bars, one with log fire in winter, and two dining areas. Open for lunch and dinner every day, with an emphasis on
fresh local produce, especially fresh local fish, meat and dairy produce.
Discounts on late availability. Non-smoking establishment. Families welcome. Listed in the AAs Top 500 places to stay for the past 6 years running.
