The Haweswater Hotel is a family run non-smoking hotel with a superb lakeside location surrounded by stunning scenery in the eastern lake district. It is the only building in the quiet and secluded Valley of the Golden Eagle and is ideally situated for a relaxing 'away from it all' break, walking holidays or a central point for touring the rest of the lake district.
The Haweswater Hotel, built in 1937, is the only building in the valley so it's always been a popular destination for those wanting to get away from it all. It's also a nature-lover's paradise with red deer, red squirrels, foxes, owls, badgers and even golden eagles. In fact, this valley is the only place in England where a golden eagle can be seen in the wild.
Haweswater is the highest lake in the Lake District at 240 metres above sea level and the 4th deepest at 57 metres. It is the most easterly and the least developed - the Haweswater Hotel is the only building on its shores.
