Set against seven hills the verdant backdrop of Torquay frames this picturesque Riviera town and its elegant waterfront. Torquays Victorian history is visible in the sparkling white villas dotted along the hilltops, the maintained gardens around the seafront and the elegant facades along the high streets.
It is here, perched on a hilltop overlooking Torquay that the Ferndale Hotel enjoys a prime position at the head of the town. This Victorian villa, set within its own grounds was formerly a gentlemens residence, where Londons male aristocracy would take rejuvenating breaks, has recently been taken over by new management. Each of the eleven ensuite rooms enjoys views over the elegant Torquay town. Choose from single, double, triple, twin and family rooms all with TV, hairdryer and hospitality tray. All of the bedrooms are decorated to a high standard with quality fabrics and furnishings.
NOTE: An Italian four-poster bed is available for that special occasion.
Several ground floor rooms allow easier access for the less mobile, whilst the communal rooms are located on the lower ground floor maintaining peace and quiet throughout the rest of the hotel.
Start each day with a good breakfast at the Ferndale, where an evening meal can also be provided at your request. Here you can relax in one of the two lounges, the residents bar or separate alcohol-free area where there is a TV, games and books for your amusement. The Ferndale stands to the side of a small wood where birds and wildlife can be observed in their natural habitat and with adequate parking the short walk to the centre of town can be enjoyed at your leisure.
The hotel will be closed from the 1st December until 27th December 2006
