Ham is an Old English word meaning sheltered place.Higher Orchard is a substantial modern house located in a quiet rural position in the hamlet of Galmpton; three quarters of a mile from the village of Hope Cove; with its sandy beaches; inns and restaurants and a village shop and post office. Malborough is a mile away; with Co-op store; petrol station; inns and post office. The sailing Mecca of Salcombe and the market town of Kingsbridge are both about four miles easy drive. We can offer both Bed and Breakfast accommodation within the house; or self catering within our self contained annexe to the main house.
