Welcome to
Bracken House a recently graded 5* guest accommodation, situated on the periphery of Exmoor in Bratton Fleming. Formerly a rectory, Bracken House has been converted into a small hotel without losing the general ambiance of a country house.
It is
delightfully situated in its own little world of eight peaceful acres, with streams and ponds. The garden attracts lots of birds including regular nuthatches, housemartins, ravens, occasional woodpeckers, buzzards circling overhead, and elusive wild tawny owls. It is also home to our resident injured owls. Located at 750 feet above sea level, there are
magnificent views over rolling hills and wooded combes to the Taw Estuary and Hartland Point in the far distance. Plenty to see and do.
Our bedrooms vary quite a lot - One was the Rector's, one was his dressing room and another was the guest room, where the Bishop would stay. They all have en suite facilities and well equipped. We offer both
Bed and Breakfast and Dinner, Bed and Breakfast. Our comfortable Drawing Room has a small, well-stocked bar. The Library has a large selection of leaflets about the area, walks, and many books on natural history, biographies and fiction.
Plenty of parking, dog friendly and free wifi for guests.Children over 12 are welcome to stay, however we can not cater for younger children.
