"Cartref Guest House is located within the ancient town walls of spectacular Caernarfon Castle. A delightful 18th Century town house built by a Scottish Baronet; it retains many of its original features including some very special carved; Welsh slate fireplaces with magnificent cast iron inserts. The town centre; shops and restaurants are just 2 minutes away and there are numerous museums; galleries and theatres within easy reach. The countryside of Snowdonia is also close by for walking; cycling; sailing; outdoor pursuits; amazing beaches and rock pools and golf set amongst dramatic scenery. Also the guest house is just two minutes walk from the banks of the picturesque Menai Straight; opposite the Isle of Anglesey. Cartref prides itself on the relaxation and the quality of service offered to guests. It takes pride in providing food to savour; in an unhurried and comfortable space and is keen to emulate the ‘slow city movement’ of Italy: ‘We are enslaved by speed and have all succumbed to the same insidious virus: Fast Life; which disrupts our habits; invades the privacy of our homes; and forces us to eat fast foods"" Carlo Petrini.
