Known in 1254 as 'Borland'; by 1578 (when it changed hands for fifty two pounds twelve shillings and six pence!) it had become Bowerlande. The property has had a long and varied history; it is believed that it was used as a POW transit camp in the war - the Napoleonic War! Today; Bowerland represents a characterful; sympathetically modernised farmhouse and two superbly renovated; luxurious courtyard cottages; in the lovely peaceful country just beneath the drama of Dartmoor. Superbly located; Bowerland offers a wealth of opportunities for touring; walking; riding; cycling; golf; tennis; a wide range of pub food and a choice of either coast; depending on whim and weather. As if that were not enough; we are in the centre of a choice selection of fishing locations for both salmon and trout within easy reach.
