Zoom puts Fort Lauderdale on the map

Zoom Airlines, the leading low-fare transatlantic airline, has announced that it will be operating a new route from London Gatwick to Fort Lauderdale in Florida for 2008.
From May, Zoom will offer flights from London Gatwick to Fort Lauderdale in Florida, being the first scheduled airline in 10 years to offer flights from any European airport to the sunshine resort.
Zoom will be introducing a twice weekly service from Gatwick with flights departing on Thursdays and Sundays. Fares start at £399 return including all taxes and charges.
Fort Lauderdale welcomes over 200,000 UK visitors a year to enjoy the constant sunshine of this subtropical resort. With 23 miles of sun-kissed beaches Fort Lauderdale is fast becoming one of the coolest places in South East Florida. Zoom operates an ‘easyJet-style’ booking service with flexible one-way fares and the flights offer economy and Premium economy services with designated seating, meals service and ‘plenty of frills’.
New routes from London Gatwick to San Diego in the summer and Denver for the winter season are also being introduced to Zoom’s portfolio of flight offerings for 2008.
Zoom has operated full-service, low-cost flights from the UK to Canada for the last three years and was granted permission this year to operate from London Gatwick as an official UK carrier to the United States. Zoom also introduced direct flights from London Gatwick to Bermuda this summer.
