Tropical Sky expands Down Under
8 September 2009
Long-haul tour operator, Tropical Sky has added a new brand to its portfolio. Launched this week, Australian Sky will offer competitively priced holidays from self-drive and escorted tours across the Australian states to beach breaks, city stays and special interest or activity-based holidays.
Heading up the venture is Chris Hawkins, who joins as a director for the dedicated Australasia team. He says, “This is the first Australian website to offer definitive guidance areas for both first time and repeat visitors, featuring a number of popular and lesser known tours and holidays. Australian Sky aims to make the ordinary holiday, extraordinary, encouraging all visitors to venture beyond the well trodden routes, even if just for a few days.”
Hideaways and hidden gems are an integral part of the Australian Sky experience and, whilst mainstream hotels will be available, accommodation is mainly offered in some of Australia’s finest luxury resorts, small B&B’s, farmstays and heritage-listed buildings such as the Sugarloaf Point Lighthouse in New South Wales.
Hoping to make the decision easier on what to do whilst away, the easy-to-navigate website australiansky.co.uk offers a ‘Top Five’ with suggested ideas and itineraries including:
Northern Territory: Self-Drive The Mereenie Loop From Alice Springs to Uluru: A five-day tour in a four-wheel drive across Aboriginal-owned territory, travelling through the MacDonnell Ranges and West MacDonnell National Park with all its peaks, gorges and chasms, taking in Glen Helen, Kings Canyon, Uluru and Kata Tjuta.
Priced from £499 per person for the tour-only with accommodation on a room-only basis, it is a perfect accompaniment for those choosing a longer stay. Packaged with scheduled flights from London Heathrow, the price is from £1,199, valid for departures from September to November 2009.
Western Australia: Ningaloo Reef Luxury Experience: Stay two nights in Perth followed by four nights at the stunning Luxury Wilderness Tented Camp of Sal Salis in Cape Range National Park. Just 50m from the beach with Ningaloo Reef on its doorstep, guests can walk from the beach straight onto a virtually untouched coral reef.
Priced from £2,149 per person and valid for departures from September to November, it includes scheduled flights from London Heathrow, accommodation on a full-board basis, non-alcoholic beverages, guided and self-guided sea-kayaking and snorkelling, guided gorge walks, a boat cruise on Yardie Creek, National Park entry and camp fees, internal flights, taxes and surcharges.
