With the children now safely back at school, it’s a great time to escape and make the most of empty beaches and less crowds. Below is bmibaby’s choice of top events and things to do in Europe this October.
From 14-16 October 2009, chocoholics should head to Porte de Versailles Exhibition Centre and indulge in the Salon du Chocolat. Amsterdam Dance Event
From 21- 24 October 2009, the city is home to the Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE). Last year’s event attracted over 90,000 people and 700 DJs and acts and was held over 44 venues. Visit amsterdam-dance-event.nl/ for more details.
From 20 - 23 October 2009, Amsterdam hosts Cinekid, the international film, TV and new media festival for children and young people. It could be the chance to watch the next Steven Spielberg in action! Visit cinekid.nl/festival for more information.
Van Gogh Museum
From 9 October 2009 to 3 January 2010, the Van Gogh Museum is devoted to the letters of the famous artist. A hundred and twenty letters will be exhibited alongside the works Van Gogh was writing about, giving an insight into the mind of the artist. Until 28 October 2009, the Lucerna Great Hall is home to 180 life-size original figures from the Terracotta Army Collection, and they have travelled all the way from China. Another 1,000 soliders are also displayed in 1:10 scale. The Terracotta Army is thought to be one of the most exciting archaeological finds of the 20th Century. WEST KNOCK - IRELAND
International Poetry Festival

Terra Mitica Theme Park
