Royal Caribbean opens a sea of dreams for budding reporters
9 October 2009
Royal Caribbean International is teaming up with Daily Mail Online’s Travel Mail to launch the “Reporter at Sea” contest in search of the UK’s most aspiring reporter to cover one of the biggest stories of the year – the unveiling of Oasis of the Seas, the world’s largest and most innovative cruise ship.
Between now and October 9, 2009 promising reporters are invited to enter to win the coveted job of special reporter onboard Oasis of the Seas. Once onboard the ship, the lucky winner will receive exclusive behind-the-scenes access at this historic event. The contest is being run globally and the lucky winner from the UK will join contestants from the United States, Canada, Germany and Mexico.
Eager reporters-to-be can audition for the assignment of a lifetime by submitting a creative video no longer than 45 seconds at Travel Mail. The video should showcase their best reporting skills and highlight why Royal Caribbean International should select them as Travel Mail’s reporter onboard Oasis of the Seas. Videos will be judged on the entrant’s ability to entertain, as well as clearly explain travel or cruising concepts.
Once the entry period ends, judges will select 10 finalists per country, and the public will vote for their favourite UK video between October 20 and October 25. Winners from each country will be simultaneously announced on November 4 and will be flown with a guest to the launch celebrations in Florida on 18 November to cover the first pre-inaugural cruise onboard Oasis of the Seas. For more information on the “Reporter at Sea” contest, how to enter, the official rules, details on the prize, and to vote, visit http://contestuk.oasisoftheseas.com/reportatsea/.
