Rotana on track for eight new openings in the UAE

Rotana, the leading hotel management company in the Middle East and North Africa, has eight new openings in the UAE scheduled for 2009, including two properties on Yas Island, home to the Yas Marina Circuit, Abu Dhabi.

This world-class motor-racing circuit will be home to the Formula One (F1TM) Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

Yas Island Rotana will open its doors in October 2009 and offer superb accommodation with a wide range of facilities for guests seeking privacy, personalised service and high quality accommodation. The four-star deluxe hotel is conveniently located moments away from the Formula 1 Race Track, The Links Golf Course and Yas Southern Marina. Guests staying during the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix will watch the race from the balconies of the lavish bedrooms.

Adjoining Yas Island Rotana is Centro Yas Island which will also open this October. It will be Rotana’s first hotel to open under ‘Centro Hotels by Rotana’, which is a modern, stylish and affordable business hotel brand. Young and fresh, three-star Centro Yas Island is a contemporary concept with high speed Wi-Fi internet access in every room, a restaurant, bar, deli take-away, business centre, meeting rooms, gymnasium and a swimming pool.

October 2009 will also see the opening of Park Rotana, conveniently located on the outskirts of Abu Dhabi, offering modern and stylish rooms and suites, conference and banqueting facilities. The recreational facilities include a swimming pool, state of the art fitness centre and six dining venues serving exceptional cuisine created by a team of culinary professionals.

Park Arjaan by Rotana is the second property to open under Rotana’s newly launched brand ‘Arjaan Hotel Apartments by Rotana’. The property is adjacent to the Park Rotana hotel and is designed to cater to both long-term guests and families looking for a home away from home.

Another property to open in the last quarter of 2009 is Khalidiya Palace Rayhaan by Rotana, the first property to open under Rotana’s newly launched brand ‘Rayhaan Hotels & Resorts by Rotana’. This alcohol-free concept reflects a respect for the culture and beliefs of Muslim guests. The fabulous five-star city resort is situated on the beautiful shores of the Arabian Gulf, offering luxurious rooms and hotel apartments with modern design complementing the values of Arabian culture.

November 2009 will see the opening of Hala Arjaan by Rotana, first-class hotel apartments with a personal touch. Located in the heart of the business district of Abu Dhabi, Hala Arjaan by Rotana offers stylish and fully equipped studios, one and two bedroom hotel apartments, all designed with the objective of closing the gap between a hotel room and home.


Rotana currently operates more hotels in Dubai and the Northern Emirates than any other single operator and the scheduled openings of Centro Barsha Dubai and Amwaj Rotana Jumeirah Beach will increase the company’s stronghold further.

Centro Barsha, Dubai will open its doors in October 2009. It is conveniently located close to the districts of Media City, Internet City, Sheikh Zayed road and the Dubai Financial Centre. Centro Barsha Dubai will feature amenities specifically geared to the needs of the low-cost business traveller, including meeting rooms, a gymnasium and a swimming pool. The second Dubai property, scheduled to open in the last quarter of 2009 is Amwaj Rotana Jumeirah Beach. Nestled by the turquoise waters of the Arabian Gulf, Amwaj Rotana is blessed with perfect views and endless sunshine. The hotel will consist of deluxe rooms and suites, multipurpose ballroom and meeting rooms and ultra-modern fitness facilities. The resort will also have five restaurant and bars, including popular Japanese restaurant Benihana. As well as access to a beach and a swimming pool, there will be a Body Lines health and fitness centre including fully equipped gym, fitness classes, steam, sauna, massage rooms and Jacuzzi.
