Festival fever has hit Iceland Express, Iceland’s low-fare airline, as the country prepares for its famous art extravaganza. The Reykjavík Arts Festival, held between 15 and 31 May 2009, boasts world-class artists and includes shows and events taking place in a variety of locations, including lighthouses, private homes, the city streets and selected spots in the countryside.

As an official festival sponsor, Iceland Express is offering special packages to the Reykjavík Arts Festival for art lovers across Europe.

Starting at just £250, these bargain packages include return flights, plus taxes, and two or three night’s accommodation in a selection of the city’s hotels.

Flights leave from London Gatwick and operate every day from 15 - 31 May 2009.

Commencing in 1970, the annual Reykjavik Arts Festival takes place every May and is one of the oldest and most respected art festivals in Northern Europe. The Festival promotes Icelandic and international culture in all fields of art.

This year, the festival will see a varied programme that touches on almost every aspect of the arts. But music will take pride of place and a number of artists will appear, including The Tiger Lillies, Deborah Voigt and Lhasa de Sela.
