BridgeClimb Sydney was awarded the top gong for best “Major Tourist Attraction” at the 2007 Qantas Australian Tourism Awards last night, Friday 29th February 2008.

This is the first time that BridgeClimb has won this much celebrated award since opening in October 1998.

BridgeClimb’s Managing Director, Todd Coates, accepted the award and said, “This award recognises the Sydney Harbour Bridge as a ‘hallmark destination in its own right’.”

“Winning this award will inspire the company to move forward in its tenth anniversary year with even greater commitment to ensuring that every Climber has the experience of a lifetime on Australia’s icon.”

“It is an honour to be included amongst the impressive company of such exceptional tourist attractions as Australia Zoo, the National Museum of Australia, Port Arthur Historic Site, Federation Square, Bunbury Dolphin Discovery, Alice Springs Desert Park and the Arkaroola Wilderness Sanctuary.”

Mr. Coates also quoted the words of the Governor of NSW, Prof. Marie Bashir, from the Bridge’s 75th anniversary celebrations - “A structure for its time has become a structure for all times”.

Since opening, BridgeClimb has seen extraordinary growth in both domestic and international visitors and in 2007 welcomed its 2 millionth Climber. BridgeClimb is now regarded as the ‘must-do’ activity in Australia and offers Climbers the choice of two unforgettable Climb experiences.

Climbs are available at dawn, day, twilight, or at night and will captivate Climbers from beginning to end, leaving an unforgettable memory of Sydney and its Bridge. Book your experience online at Bridgeclimb.com.
