Going loco in Portugal

This journey begins in Oporto, capital of the north, before taking local trains via Espinho, Sernada do Vouga then onto Aveiro and Coimbra – with walking en route.
One stays three nights in Coimbra – enjoying its many delights – as well as walks in the hills of Serra da Lousa, again using local train services.
Then, its south to Caldas da Rainha, ‘The Queen’s Spa’, renowned for its healing waters and just a short distance from the wild Atlantic coast.
Finally, one spends a couple of days in Portugal’s glorious capital, Lisbon, soaking in its wonderful history, culture and architecture, including the Castelo de Sao Jorge (St George’s Castle).
