Set in over 70 acres of rolling countryside one mile east of Ashdown Forest in the HIgh Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with lovely views and walks over the owners meadows and woodland. The property forms a quadrangle, ensuring privacy and wind shelter, and the garden with patio, lawn and pretty flower borders is safely enclosed. There is a pond on the farm. Many original features including stable doors and beams have been incorporated plus the high vaulted ceiling in the spacious living room to add to the charm of this high standard, carpeted and extremely comfortable accommodation. Ample parking with security lighting. Horse riding, golf, fishing and leisure centres with swimming pools are all nearby, with shops in Uckfield (3 miles) and Crowborough. Trains for London are available 10 miles away in Haywards Heath and East Grinstead and from near the property, buses to Brighton and Tunbridge Wells are available (30 minutes drive). A delightful, unusual barn conversion in a glorious location with lovely views over the owners pretty gardens, large pond - home to black swans, ducks and well stocked with perch, tench, roach and carp - a boat is available for guests use - and with orchards to the rear and wonderful views over the rolling Kentish countryside. Because of the pond and the way the cottage is equipped, this cottage is only suitable for 2 adults and 2 teenagers/children over 10. There are also 2 neighbouring friendly Jacob sheep, fenced in beside the grounds. This is ideal walking country with many footpaths adjacent and within a short drive are many historic houses, gardens, National trust and English Heritage properties including Sissinghurst Gardens, Penshurst Place, Hever and Leeds Castles, Bewl Water for fishing, cycling and watersports and the Kent & East Sussex Steam Railway. Only half a mile distant lies the ancient village of Goudhurst with its pond, small shops, tea-rooms, pubs and restaurants. Tunbridge Wells and Maidstone are approximately 12 miles away and Ashford, now with a new designer shopping centre and the Eurotunnel terminal is 20 miles away. Main line station at Marden is only 4 miles distant for trains to London. Blackthorn Barn is accessed by a private drive with ample parking beside the property.
