The house itself is full of traditional features and a warm log fire burns in the open stone fireplace of the residents' lounge. There are exposed beams; inset windows and wonderful views over the moor. Mary will cook your full English breakfast from their farm produce and on request she will provide a home-cooked dinner for you from delicious; fresh ingredients from the farm and garden. She bakes her own bread; makes all the puddings and Julian ensures there is a supply of fresh meat available from the farm This homely; family run bed and breakfast B&B has two double rooms and a single room available; all with either an en suite or private bathroom and a private guests' lounge.

Our house is set near the centre of Westward Ho! within sight and sound of the sea and Lundy Island. It is also close (200 metres) to the South West Coastal Path. Brockenhurst is a family run Bed & Breakfast owned by Peter and Kim Snowball on occasion assisted by their daughter. We provide a warm; comfortable friendly environment for you to have an enjoyable stay and try to do whatever we can to ensure that you do.All our rooms are en-suite with tea / coffee making facilities; central heating and colour TV. Breakfast is taken in the dining room overlooking the sea and the chickens that lay the eggs for your breakfast.There are plenty of things to do including walking on the coastal path – follow the path westwards along the clifftops for spectacular views and beautiful sunsets towards the picturesque Bucks Mill; Clovelly and Hartland Point - or follow the path eastwards over Northam burrows with grazing sheep and ponies; past Royal North Devon Golf Course; through the fishing town of Appledore to the old port of Bideford with its ancient bridge. Alternatively walk or cycle along the Tarka Trail (old railway line) to either Torrington or Barnstaple (regional capital) and beyond or if you want to save your legs you can drive or buses run to Bideford and Barnstaple every half and hour.Sunbathing; rockpooling; water sports - surfing; fishing etc. on our local beach together with Tennis; Golf and Riding in Westward Ho! with restaurants; pubs; shopping and amusements close to hand. Further afield there is Dartington Crystal and RHS Rosemoor Gardens in Torrington; Hartland Abbey (house; gardens and tearoom) and Docton Mill (gardens and tearoom). Instow (across the river Torridge from Appledore) where the local yacht club is situated.

Built in 1880; Penrose retains a wealth of original features; including fireplaces in most of the large rooms; cornicing; ceiling roses; chandeliers; high ceilings and stained glass windows. Even though Penrose is elegant and grand; when you walk in you will experience a homely and laid back atmosphere. As you will see below; most of the rooms are lovely and large with ensuite facilities; plus comfy seating and lots of added extras. There is free Wifi; and a computer available in the dining room. Children and dogs are welcome as well. Chris & Heidi endeavour to make your stay as enjoyable as possible.There are lots of amenities close by; including:The Eden Project (only 10 minutes drive away) Coastal walks; Cycling; Fishing and Sailing;Golf courses galore National Trust gardens & houses Local pubs restaurants and takeaways all within a 5/10 minute walk of the house.Lostwithiel is now the antiques capital of Cornwall; it also boasts tea shops; restaurants; churches; castles; rivers; parks; boats; museum and a train station.
